About the author
Abosede Omowumi Babatunde, PhD, works at the intersection of extractive politics, environmental conflict, and peacebuilding, focusing on Nigeria’s Niger Delta. She teaches at the Centre for Peace and Strategic Studies, University of Ilorin, Nigeria.
Professor Babatunde is also a Visiting Fellow at the University of Oxford's Africa Studies Centre, part of the Africa Oxford Visiting Fellowship Programme. She co-authored the book "Managing Violent Religious Extremism in Fragile States: Building Institutional Capacity in Nigeria and Kenya" as part of the Routledge African Governance Series.

Chapter summary
Drawing on my teaching at the intersection of environmental security and peacebuilding at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, this chapter explores how people are positively adapting to ecological crisis in the environmentally ravaged Niger Delta.
